Getting around
The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) connects Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau and the New Territories. Buses are low-cost and the network is extensive. Buy an Octopus travel card for easy payment on trains, buses and ferries. Download the HKeMobility app for public transport routes and updates.
Red taxis travel to most destinations, but expect delays during peak hour. Uber also operates in Hong Kong.
For a nostalgic harbour experience, catch the famous Star Ferry between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

Victoria Peak: Since 1888, the historic Peak Tram has scaled the 396m to Victoria Peak so people can take in panoramic views of Hong Kong’s skyscrapers and harbour. There are four spectacular walking trails in this area, too.
Dragon's Back: For a longer hike, head to the south-eastern corner of Hong Kong Island and walk the mountain ridge trail. The part-paved trail features share-worthy coastal views.
